get to know me meme ♡ favorite singers → maisie peters

“It’s about being the good witch and deciding to use your power for good, not evil. It’s important to tell the truth. Music is subjective, and it’s my music, so I get to decide. It’s interesting when I look back at the album and all the songs that didn’t make it as well. I’m struck by how most, if not all, of the songs that made it, in my opinion, for a breakup album, I don’t think it’s that mean. There’s not a lot of anger, hate, or malice in it. Those types of songs, the petty songs, maybe they don’t stand the test of time. Being the good witch is letting those songs stay in my back pocket. It’s funny; the songs that do make it tell the right story. That’s a story I’m proud to tell, and I think I will be – I think it will age well.”

There it goes is just GORGEOUS. I love that build up to the line “I had to let it go-hooooooo” it just sounds like…. Letting go. It’s the perfect poppy ballad hybrid, idk. It’s a very special song and I think it has potential to be a hallmark maisie song 5 years from now
